The Story of Iggy

In 1993, Alex Thomas, age 12, drew Iggy for a newsletter for his mom’s allergy practice. He had no idea at the time that one day the characters he created as a kid would turn into something more.

When Alex was in his residency at the University of Wisconsin he realized that Iggy might be a useful way to help kids with asthma learn about their condition. So, Alex teamed up with health communication specialist Gary Ashwal for audience testing and media production to turn his idea into reality.
